Together with the Maharashtra government, Berkshire Hathaway is creating a 1,000-acre smart city near the Navi Mumbai airport.

According to the company's official statement, the government will offer access to property and aid with getting numerous licences and permits, while the company will contribute to the creation of a comprehensive ecosystem for industrial, commercial, and residential development. It continues that the partnership, a joint venture between the state government and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), will make it easier to develop industrial clusters, warehousing and distribution hubs, entertainment hubs, data centres, and information technology parks for IT/ITES/BPO/KPO services.
