The Bengaluru store will offer employment for 800-1000 direct workers and another 1,500 for indirect services.
The Swedish furniture and homeware company IKEA will be opening its flagship store in Bengaluru in June 2022. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai restated at the World Economic Forum Summit, Davos.

In his tweet, CM said that the Karnataka government is coordinating with the organization to encourage local manufacturing after meeting Jesper Brodin, Ingka Group (IKEA) Global Chief Executive Officer(CEO) in the summit.
Nagasandra will be the location of the store. The official release stated that Brodin has invited Chief Minister Bommai to attend the inauguration. IKEA had indicated that the Bengaluru store will employ 800-1000 direct employees and additional 1,500 indirect employees to provide services like assembly and delivery.
"IKEA collaborates with nine home furnishings suppliers in Karnataka, including a social entrepreneur who employs 1,200 local craftsmen, thereby expanding its local sourcing footprint in the state," the business said earlier. It further stated that Karnataka is a significant market for IKEA and that Bengaluru is one of India's largest home furnishing markets.
After Hyderabad and Mumbai, the IKEA store in Bengaluru will be the company's third flagship shop in India. In addition, it has an online presence currently in Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat.
