Declared openly at the annual Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit on 30th November, the companies said that the collaboration will focus on the development of Vertex AI Neural Architecture Search (NAS), a managed service described by Google as search technology for generating, evaluating, and training model architectures for applications. Mainly, the focus of the partnership is to make it possible to automate the creation of AI models and to reduce manual workloads.

The first chip-set company to work with google-cloud on NAS is Qualcomm. The chipmaker is eager to roll out this tech to further push for this feature in connecting the intelligent edge. With this fresh technology, it will be able to build and boost new AI models in weeks and impact many people through Snapdragon-powered devices. Chip-maker Qualcomm and Google Cloud said that The Google Cloud's Vertex AI NAS Neural Architecture Search (NAS), first available on Snapdragon 8 Generation one mobile platform and then across Qualcomm portfolio, will enable the companies to create and optimize AI models automatically rather than manually. Once combined with Qualcomm's AI engine, NAS will be used to accelerate neural network development and differentiation for Snapdragon mobile, ACPC, XR, the Snapdragon Ride automotive platform, and IOT initiatives, according to Qualcomm. Google Cloud's Vertex AI NAS will give Qualcomm Technologies the ability to bring high accuracy AI with low latency to low-power devices such as IOT, medical imagery, automobile, and mobile devices, whilst ensuring memory and energy efficiency. Vice president Ziad Asghar who is also the product management for Qualcomm Technologies commented that “with this collaboration, Qualcomm Technologies will now be able to build and optimize new AI models in weeks rather than months and we’re thrilled at the impact this will have on people using Snapdragon-powered devices.”

June Yang, vice president of Cloud AI and Industry Solutions observed that “Google Cloud’s Vertex AI NAS will give Qualcomm Technologies the ability to bring high accuracy AI with low latency to low-power devices such as IOT, medical imagery, automobile, and mobile devices, whilst ensuring memory and energy efficiency.” Google and Qualcomm seem to have put a lot of effort into improving AI capabilities in their future chipsets with the help of Google.

Google cloud said that in a treaty the collaboration will allow Qualcomm its ability to bring high accuracy AI with low latency to low-power devices such as IOT, medical imagery, automobile, and mobile devices, whilst ensuring memory and energy efficiency. Also, this will allow the company to build and optimize new AI models in weeks rather than months. This will also help with better optimizations and upswing of performances. It has also been confirmed that the Google Cloud Vertex AI NAS will be integrated into future Qualcomm Neural Processing SDK for developer access.
