Emmanuel David served as the Director of Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC) for six years after almost four decades of service wherein the organization facilitated training for over 1,00,000 people across various training modules. Emmanuel has been able to influence the pedagogy and portfolio of program offerings at TMTC. Partnering with senior Tata Leaders, he has endeavored to create the context for learning through various experience touch-points. He has further developed and curated a body of knowledge around Unconventional Learning, which is part of some select Leadership Programs.

Under his Leadership, The Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC) has won the Silver Award, in the Best Corporate University – Culture & Technology category, at the Global CCU Awards ceremony held virtually, on 5th May 2021. The jury commended the agility and resilience with which TMTC moved from a largely brick-and-mortar delivery model to the adoption of digital platforms, by creating several online learning initiatives that have enhanced its engagement with the globally dispersed community of Tata learners. TMTC also got an award for Excellence in Experiential Learning Programs by Business World People L&D Excellence Summit & Awards 2020. TMTC was also bestowed with the Bronze Award at the Global CCU Awards ceremony held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in May 2019, in the Best Corporate University - Business impact category. These remarkable and fulfilling accomplishments have enhanced the brand value of TMTC and ensured sustained capability development consistently.

Emmanuel

As a facilitator, Emmanuel believed in the delivery of unconventional learning which allowed participants to engage with the trainer.  During his tenure as the Director, he developed a value-enhancing model that was affordable by many. He believed that ‘Learning has to democratized’ in the country where there are 300 million illiterates to remove the employability & capability gap.

"A unique feature of many of TMTC’s leadership program is “Unconventional Learning”. This approach provides participants an opportunity to learn from a context different to their normal work situation. Participants can observe and interact with organizations or expert practitioners in domains that are unfamiliar to them. This allows them to gain very fresh perspectives about issues such as managing the self, or about leadership of people as well as organizations. Agile responses during the COVID times with virtually facilitated programs and uniquely designed Learning Latitudes Webinar allowed many employees to ignite the spark of learning" says Emmanuel. Emmanuel has also coached and empowered many leaders to do exceptional work helping them to uncover hidden strengths and weaknesses in their own respective careers.

With the conclusion of Emmanuel David’s term, Anand Shankar has taken over as his successor from June 1, 2021. Shankar is an HR maestro with over three decades of experience.
