If we peak into a little history, Berger paints acquired its name much later after its establishment in India. It was set up in 1923 by Mr Hadfield and was named as Hadfield India Ltd. By the close of 1947, Hadfield was acquired by British Paints Ltd, UK and came to be known as British Paints India Ltd. Later in 1983, the name of the company was changed to Berger Paints India Limited. The company has established itself through a long course of time and has been consistent with its innovative work and meeting the customer needs. The product range varies from Interior colours, exterior colours, metal finishes, wood finishes, undercoats, waterproofing solutions, exterior textures, and home and hygiene safety. They have seventeen products under the Interior Wall Coatings which provides the customers with unique features such as high sheen finish, ultra smooth finish, superior cleanability, elastomeric film which has crack bridging ability in the walls, provides elegant appearance, high durability, high washability, antimicrobial properties, high glittering effect, provide unique patterns, provides superior coverage than regular emulsions and etc. The Exterior Wall Coatings have 11 products under it. The Exterior Wall Coatings have qualities like, water repellency, anti algal and antifungal properties, dirt pickup resistance, high sheen finish, elegant appearance, high durability, high washability, long lasting beauty, silicon protection, weather protection, dust guard technology and comes with a performance warranty of 7-10 years. 

The company has put in efforts towards a cleaner and more sustainable future and hence all of their paints are Green Pro Certified. Berger works with a philosophy of Innovation and Change which makes them believe in their goals and motivates them to move forward to achieve them. The brand also provides DIY self painting kits with the right set of tools which help the customers to paint the walls themselves. Besides self painting kits, they provide, wall stencil kit, glow in the dark kit, enamel paint kit, basic repair kit, and wall stickers.

They have divided their products under these categories based on decorative and industrial paints. National And International Recognitions

Headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, Berger paints will complete a hundred years in December 2023. The company started expanding in India when it opened sales offices in Delhi and Bombay and a depot was started in Guwahati. Now it is spread well across the different parts of the country, serving thousands of people every day. The company also has international presence in Nepal, Bangladesh, Poland and Russia. It has 16 strategically located manufacturing units in India, 2 in Nepal, 1 each in Poland and Russia and about 162 stock points. Beger paints has experienced a massive growth in its sales turnover in all these years, from an annual sales turnover of Rs. 25 lakhs, to business revenues in excess of Rs. 6000 Crores on a consolidated basis ( as of 31st March 2019). Berger provides employment to over 3450+ people excluding the subsidiaries and has a countrywide distribution network of 25000+ dealers. It's responsibilities don't end here. According to recent news, Berger's biggest plant is coming up at Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh at an estimated investment of around ₹1000 Crore and is expected to go on stream by November 2022. The company also plans to set up another unit at Panagarh in West Bengal.
